AI Product Video — Automatic Product Video Generation with Google Veo

AI Product Video is a module for OpenCart and ocStore that automatically creates promotional videos based on a product image and product information.

The module sends the product’s main image, name, description, model, SKU, attributes, and a prepared prompt to Google Veo. Once generation is complete, the finished MP4 file is automatically downloaded to the store server, linked to the product, and can be displayed in its gallery.

The package also includes the advanced Product Video in a Pop-up Window modification, which allows you to manage generated and manually added videos directly from the product edit page.

Using Product Information

The module automatically creates a prompt based on product data. The following variables can be used in the prompt template:

• {name} — product name
• {description} — product description
• {model} — product model
• {sku} — product SKU
• {attributes} — product attributes and specifications

A custom prompt can be specified for an individual product. If the field is left empty, the module will use the general template from the settings.

Adding Products to the Queue

The module allows you to add either individual products or groups of products to the queue based on specified conditions.

• One selected product
• Products without videos
• All store products
• Products from a selected category
• Products from a selected manufacturer
• Filter by product status
• Filter by date added
• Limit the number of products added to the queue

Task Statuses

• Pending — the product has been added to the queue but has not yet been sent to Google
• Processing — Google Veo is creating the video
• Completed — the video has been uploaded to the server and linked to the product
• Error — a Google API message or a local error is displayed

Automatic Processing via Cron

In the settings, the module generates a ready-to-use cron URL and a crontab command. The recommended run frequency is once per minute.

• Cron starts new tasks from the queue
• Checks the status of videos that are already being generated
• No more than two requests are sent to Google per run
• No more than one new video is started per run
• The cron URL is protected by a secret key
• If the module is disabled, cron does not start generation or contact the Google API
• If a quota limit error occurs, the task remains in the queue for retrying

Managing Finished Videos

A separate tab is provided in the administration panel for generated videos.

• Preview the finished video
• Download the MP4 file to your computer
• Open the product page in the storefront
• Go to the product video editing page
• Display the product name and model
• Delete the video file and remove its link to the product
• Pagination for the finished video list

Storage and File Names

• A custom storage directory can be specified inside the image/ directory
• The directory is created automatically
• A custom video file name template can be configured
• The variables {name}, {model}, {sku}, {product_id}, and {number} are supported
• The video number prevents overwriting when several videos are created for the same product

The Product Video in a Pop-up Window Modification Is Included

An advanced modification for managing videos on the product page is installed together with the generator.

Product Video Management Features

• A separate “Video” tab on the product edit page
• Add multiple videos to one product
• Enable or disable an individual video

• Automatic detection and normalization of YouTube, Shorts, and Vimeo IDs

For YouTube, YouTube Shorts, and Vimeo, only the video ID is stored in the database. Full links are automatically converted to IDs when the product is saved.

Displaying Videos on the Product Page

• Videos are displayed among the product’s additional images
• The original video thumbnail is used for YouTube and Vimeo
• The main product image is used for local and AI-generated videos
• The video opens in a pop-up window without redirecting to a third-party website
• Correct display of 9:16 and 16:9 formats
• Support for local MP4 files

SEO and Structured Data

The modification adds Schema.org VideoObject structured data to the product page.

The structured data includes:

• Video name
• Video description
• Thumbnail URL
• Video URL
• Embedded player URL
• Product publication date

Theme Compatibility

• default — integration is included in the main modification

Other custom themes may require a separate gallery structure adaptation. Adaptation of third-party themes is not included in the module’s standard price.

Google Veo Generation Cost

Important: video generation is performed through the paid Google Gemini API. Google API usage fees are not included in the module price and are paid directly to Google by the store owner.

To use the module, you must create an API key in Google AI Studio and enable paid billing. A free tier is not available for Veo.

Below is an approximate calculation based on the official Google Veo 3.1 pricing. The VAT columns include 20% VAT.

Note: for 1080p, Google supports only an 8-second duration. According to Google, you are charged only for successfully generated videos.

Google pricing, taxes, billing rules, and preview model availability may change. The actual amount charged depends on the country and type of payment profile, the bank’s exchange rate, currency conversion, and Google Billing tax settings.

Important Limitations

• Currently, one main product image is sent to Google
• The Google Veo result is saved in MP4 format

• The generated result depends on the image, prompt, and capabilities of the Google model
• The module does not guarantee identical results when generation is repeated
• Model limits and availability are determined by Google

Installation

1. Upload the module archive via “Extensions → Installer”
2. Go to “Extensions → Modifications” and refresh the modification cache
3. Open “Extensions → Extensions → Modules”
4. Install the “AI Product Video (Google Veo)” module
5. Open the module settings
6. Enter the Gemini API key and generation parameters
7. Save the settings
8. Add the generated cron URL or crontab command in your hosting control panel

There is no need to run SQL queries manually. The required database tables are created automatically during module installation using the OpenCart database prefix.
