Quick Product Add-to-Cart Link Module for OpenCart

This modification adds the ability to add a product to the cart via a direct link of the following format: https://yourshop.com/index.php?route=checkout/checkout&{key}=VALUE

• Where {key} is the configured identifier (possible values: model, sku, upc, ean, jan, isbn, mpn).
• The quantity added to the cart = 1.
• Product options are not requested: if the product has options, the customer is automatically redirected to the product page.

Why You Need This

In Google Merchant Center Next (GMC), currently available only in the USA, there is an option “Add cart or checkout page URL.” By installing this modification, you can specify a special Checkout URL for each product in GMC. As a result, your ads will display two buttons:

• Standard: “Go to product page”
• New: “Buy” — leads directly to the cart with the selected product already added

More detailed information is available in the GMC dashboard: Settings → Business information → Checkout.

Google Merchant Center Setup

1. Your feed already contains an identifier (for example, model).
2. In GMC, go to Settings → Business information → Checkout and specify “Add cart or checkout page URL” in the following format:

• For standard cart: https://yourshop.com/index.php?route=checkout/checkout&model={id}
• For Simple checkout: https://yourshop.com/index.php?route=checkout/simplecheckout&model={id}
• For octemplates checkout: https://yourshop.com/index.php?route=checkout/oct_smartcheckout&model={id}
• For 29aleksey checkout: https://yourshop.com/index.php?route=checkout/onepcheckout&model={id}
• If SEO_URL is used on the checkout page, you can specify: https://yourshop.com/checkout?model={id}

Customers coming from ads will be able to either open the product page or go directly to the cart with the product already added.

Installation

1. Install the module via the OpenCart admin panel.
2. Refresh the modifications.
3. Go to: System → Settings → Edit store settings → “Options” tab.
4. Find the option “Product key for link generation” and select the one that matches the identifier in your GMC feed.
5. Save the store settings.
6. Test the links using the examples above.
